
SASS is in the pilot stage of our multi-modal training program for lawyers and justice sector professionals in Saskatchewan, designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively support victims of sexual violence using a trauma-informed approach.
Who should take this training?
This training was developed with a range of professions in mind, including but not limited to, lawyers, judges, victim services worker, court workers, social workers, and law enforcement officers.
What will I gain?
- An evidence-based understanding of sexual assault and abuse trauma and its impacts across the lifespan;
- A province-wide perspective on the diverse challenges and dynamics survivors of sexual assault and abuse face;
- Knowledge and skills on how to serve survivors of intersectional identities; and
- Enhanced ability to leverage community resources to provide wrap-around supports for survivors of sexual violence accessing legal services.
